DATE TBD Shakespeare’s Rhythm: A New Approach To Verse.
DAY 1: A physical approach to the rhythm of Shakespeare's language. Dissect all the clues he gives you about the character, relationships and emotion just through the rhythm of the verse. This approach will break down mental barriers giving you an instinctive and active approach to making this classic text work for you.
Bring to class: Bring a Shakespeare speech no longer than 20 lines. Bring something that you’ve never worked on before. Challenge yourself.
DATE TBD Monologues: Speech Surgery.
DAY 2: This class is about breathing new life into old monologues. Having looked at a speech for verse and rhythm we will now take the work further with new techniques and exercises which will give you added confidence for future auditions.
